MENTOR A STUDENT - ARIZONA CARDINALS PREPARATORY ACADEMY

An Arizona Cardinals Preparatory Academy (ACPA) student needs YOU! Become an integral part in the life of a child by being a mentor through Arizona Quest for Kids (AQFK) program at the ACPA. As a mentor you will meet one-on-one with a 5th-8th grade student to help the student make positive choices about his or her own education, personal relationships and role in the community. The commitment is only one hour a week during the school year at the school site in the Sunnyslope region. This commitment includes orientation, training, enrichment field trips and program meetings. Fingerprinting and background checks are completed at no cost to the volunteer.

Arizona Cardinals Preparatory Academy is a school for 5th-8th grade students who come to the academy because they have great potential. At the Academy they grow in leaps and bounds with confidence, academic ability, and hope. The Arizona Cardinals Preparatory Academy of the Washington Elementary School District was formed through community partnership with Cardinals Charities, University of Phoenix and Communities In Schools of Arizona to offer accelerated instruction and service learning to help students focus on learning and achieving success.

Arizona Cardinals Preparatory Academy is a Arizona Quest For Kids site. Arizona Quest For Kids (AQFK) is a mentoring and enrichment program for high potential students from low income families to provide support and guidance for college enrollment and graduation.

AQFK addresses the hopes and dreams of youth who may otherwise not be able to attend college by providing them with mentoring services, enrichment opportunities, family support services, and financial aid counseling for college. AQFK is committed to ensuring that youth are academically, personally and emotionally prepared to not only graduate from high school but to excel in postsecondary education and beyond.
